A Fiction based on a true family murder mystery
Crimson Gold eBook Donna Kolling Lear
If you like reading an involved mystery/murder this is your book ! Usually, I'm able to figure out the 'who done it' quickly, not true with this book. Donna Lear is a master at weaving the plot thick and deep...many side plots for added action ! No slow spots in this read. I was especially taken by the fact the book is based on a real family living in Alaska during the gold rush years. Lear's historical description of that era is compelling and correct. She makes you feel like you're there in Alaska enduring all the hardships! I don't want to include any spoilers here. I can safely say this is one of the better books I've read recently and I will be looking for more work from this talented author. I loved that I couldn't figure it out ahead...I had to keep reading.Product details

Crimson Gold eBook Donna Kolling Lear Reviews
Hope she writes more, enjoyed reading her work.
I was so enthralled with this book. I could not wait to find out who the villain was. Very good book.
I thought the book was well wrote. Simple but interesting. I also enjoyed the follow up. Being the murders happened in the 40s the author was able to wrap-up all the characters lives. I would recommend it to my friends who enjoy a good mystery. I gave the book 5 stars for its simplicity and easy readability.
Loved the story about the early gold mining days in Alaska. Based on a true story of family and mystery.
Touching letters sent by family members. Great descriptions of places and people. This book had me from the
beginning and I was unable to put it down till the end. A very good read for a hot Calif. day.
This was a great look at Alaska before statehood. Based on true events made the story even more compelling. Crimes were harder to solve back in the days before computer databases, no cell phones, and the lack of local law, yet these men did!
Sadly, I didn't get to read this book because the first, second, and final surprise was the language of the characters. I'm so sorry. I would liked to have read the story.
The book is a definite page turner; I couldn't put it down once I started it. As I went through the book I kept wondering what was going to happen next, and was not disappointed with the final reveal. I was thrilled with the story by the time I finished the book; only to be saddened moments later when I remembered these events actually took place. Wonderful read.
